SUMMARY:Saturday Weekly Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Summer Sesshin \n \n \n \n October 7–11 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Click here to join the Zoom meeting.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n meeting ID: 825 3357 2460passcode: treetop.20 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n RSVPs \n \n \n \n If you plan to attend in person and will be present for at least one meal\, please reply to Elizabeth with dates and meals so our tenzos can prepare enough food but not too much. Those of you who’ve cooked in the past know an uncertain headcount adds to the stress of choosing recipes to please a broad range of tastes and diets and shopping for ingredients to feed the sangha. Please help give our cooks an accurate count to lighten their burden and avoid food waste and shortfalls. \n \n \n \n Tenzos \n \n \n \n We need daily tenzos (lunch and dinner) for Friday and Saturday and a single breakfast tenzo for Thursday through Sunday. If you’re willing to volunteer\, that would be especially appreciated. Cooks are responsible for choosing vegetarian recipes and purchasing ingredients (the cost should be deducted from the retreat fee). Meals will be prepared during samu and tenzos will be assigned helpers\, so if a lack of cooking skills is holding you back\, that part can be delegated. I’m happy to provide more details for those considering tenzoing. Please reply to Elizabeth if you want to cook or have questions. \n \n \n \n Housing \n \n \n \n All are welcome to sleep in the zendo\, which has a shared bathroom. We recommend bringing a towel\, pillow\, sheet\, and blanket. You may use the mats for cushioning. No reservations are required for sleeping in the zendo.Private accommodations are limited and available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Please reply to Elizabeth to reserve a private room or cabin. \n \n \n \n Cost \n \n \n \n The retreat fee is $300 and includes all meals (Thursday through Sunday). Private cabins and rooms in the house cost $175. Communal space for sleeping in the zendo is $50. Housing totals include Wednesday night through Sunday. If funds are tight\, just give what you can. If they’re really tight\, consider yourself our guest. You’re always welcome — no one will be turned away for lack of funds.As has been our tradition\, dana (donations) for teachers is not expected but always appreciated. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Schedule \n \n \n \n TBD \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Here is an example schedule from Thursday–Friday\, January 8th–9th7–8 am:zazen8–9:30 am:breakfast\, cleanup\, and jundo9:30–10 am:service10–11:30 am:zazen and daisan11:30 am–1 pm:samu1–2:30 pm:lunch\, cleanup\, and jundo2:30–3:30 pm:rest3:30–5:30 pm:zazen and daisan5:30–7 pm:dinner\, cleanup\, and jundo7 pm–end:zazen and dharma talk \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n	\n	Add to calendar	\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n	Google Calendar\n\n \n	iCalendar\n\n \n	Outlook 365\n\n \n	Outlook Live\n\n \n \n\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n All Events

Meals will be prepared during samu and tenzos will be assigned helpers\, so if a lack of cooking skills is holding you back\, that part can be delegated.
